FOCUS: Anticipation and the 4th
My family and I are excited to be appointed by our Arkansas United Methodist Bishop Gary Mueller to First United Methodist Church in Sheridan. And it’s with joyful anticipation that we count down to July 3rd, our first Sunday worship with you preceded by the wonderful breakfast at 10:00 a.m.
Last week at the Arkansas Annual Conference in Hot Springs our church was represented by Dee Ann Daniel, Shelia Aaron, and Zoe Hines. It was fun getting to meet with and know them as they shared some of the many fine ministries our church. We thank them for their service to Christ and His Church by representing us for those four days.
Barbara, Matthew, Catherine, and I are most appreciative of the many kind gestures of hospitality and welcome that church members of extended toward us in recent days. We have heard a lot about our new church – your reputation precedes you in your dedication to Jesus Christ and love for His Church. I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know you as well in the coming days and weeks.
In worship this Sunday I begin my series of messages entitled “Hebrew Hall of Faith – Stories of Heroes and Heroines from the Old Testament.” We’ll sing our great patriotic hymns as we thank God for our nation and pray for God’s continued blessings and protection to be poured out upon us.
I pray that each of you has a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend as we gather with friends and family.
In Christ’s love
