Our cup has been overflowing in worship during Holy Week beginning with Palm Sunday and continuing with the Last Supper Reenactment directed by Summer Scott and our Good Friday service, “Last Seven Words of Jesus from the Cross.” Our thanks to our Chancel Choir and musicians Julia Stinson and Dana Teel for their outstanding contributions.
Hebrews 12:2 reminds us that “Jesus….who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” In a world filled with anger, we have a much-needed message of love and peace — the love of our Savior and His victory over our greatest enemy, death itself, and the gift of eternal life.
The angel at the tomb told the frightened women, “Go…and tell the disciples and Peter that Jesus is going before you to Galilee.” (Mark 16: 7)
Won’t you join me to “go and tell” and share the greatest news the world has ever known? And join us at 1st Methodist.
May the Lord bless you and yours in this sacred time of Easter.
In Christ’s love,
